about

This song came out of a cancer scare. The whole story is long and heavy with medical details that ultimately lead to me not having cancer. But in that period prior to that revelation I thought a lot about my childhood and legacy. Music is a legacy even for those who aren't lucky enough to make a living from it. In reflecting on my childhood I felt there was a common thread of music, specifically with my father and my grandfathers. When I told my dad what the song was and the title the first time he cried. And so did I.
