about

The line, “I’m shipwrecked on the shore of your heart,” is probably the single best line I’ve ever written. That idea resonates to strongly with so many people. The comedy with this song is that it’s been so long since I wrote it that I almost feel like the verses don’t make sense. I hope you find your own meaning in those lyrics.

lyrics

The ocean sings sweetly
There’s no one here to great me
In this long forsaken land
At home in this place
I’m separated from
All the fortresses of man
I am not alone
As I wait here for you
I am not alone
I’m shipwrecked on the shore of your heart
I set out to find you
So I could remind you
That you can love again
The seas were rough
But my will was stronger
I will not give up on you
