about

There's so much history with this song, mostly how its been around for a few years and has shifted in and out of a variety of arrangements. In my mind is a very cinematic scene taking place in which a cowardly man is realizing that his mistakes and greed have not only endangered himself but his loved ones. In all of this there's a simple truth about grace displayed by this other character who had come to kill the narrator. Grace is undeserved and it should change your life.

....also in the cinematic scene playing out in my head there's some kind of really cheesy one-liner from the assassin regarding the red of the moon and why he won't kill the narrator....but this song is serious right?

lyrics

There's a red moon over Singapore
And my sleepy girl is sleeping in bed
There's a knock at my front door
It's a man who tells me that I'm dead
There's a red moon over Singapore
Ten years ago they took my life away
I lock myself behind closed doors
Because I know they hunt me everyday
I've earned these debts
They're mine to pay
And I have regrets
They haunt me everyday
A black cloud covers up the moon
And the man breaks down my front door
Is there somewhere left, anywhere to hind?
On this dark night in Singapore
The man walks in he calls my name
"It's time to reap what you have sown!"
I beg for mercy, beg for grace
Does he know I'm not alone?
There's a red moon over Singapore
It's covered by the blood that took my place
The man he left he walked away
That was the day I learned of grace
